She is a lecturer in the Department of International Relations at Istanbul K\u00fclt\u00fcr University. A former journalist and political columnist for&nbsp;<em>T24<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>\u015ealom Newspaper<\/em>, she specializes in Middle Eastern affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her academic work focuses on Security Studies, the Middle East, Israel, and Turkish foreign policy. She is a member of the Women in Foreign Policy Initiative and is actively involved in various projects that promote religious minority rights and women\u2019s empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Valansi is the author of&nbsp;<em>The Crescent Moon and the Magen David: Turkish-Israeli Relations Through the Lens of the Turkish Public<\/em>&nbsp;(Hamilton Books, 2018).
