Prof. Dr. Tuba Eldem is a Gerda Henkel Research Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study (CAS) in Sofia, where she conducts research on authoritarianism and populism. She is also a faculty member in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Fenerbah\u00e7e University. Her research lies at the intersection of comparative politics and international security, with a focus on political regimes, the international dimensions of regime change, civil\u2013military relations, digital transformation, and strategic connectivity. Dr. Eldem received her PhD in Political Science from the University of Toronto with a dissertation entitled\u202f\u201cGuardians Entrapped: The Demise of the Turkish Armed Forces as a Veto Player\u201d\u202f(2013). She previously served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Research College \u201cThe Transformative Power of Europe\u201d at Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin and as a researcher at the Centre for Applied Turkey Studies (CATS) at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Assoc.
