Hello.

While discussing alternative ways to enable academics to reach a broader public with their ‘expert opinions’ in the summer of 2019, we could not have foreseen that what became the Global Panorama would develop and flourish during the COVID-19 pandemic that confined us all to our homes. Personally, I am pleased that we were able to use this lockdown period productively and lay the foundations for Global Panorama, whose first opinion piece was to be published on January 18, 2020.

When creating the Global Panorama portal as an alternative to traditional and social media, the first of which is increasingly polarized and losing followers, and the second fuels divisions through opposing viewpoints, we defined our goal as “to deliver succinct analyses of world events from experts in a comprehensible language, without polarization, division, or hostility, to the wider public”. The feedback we have received so far suggests that we are close to achieving this goal.

We continually refine the portal’s structure and experiment with various production tools and output formats. At this point, in addition to our established categories, such as Opinion, Analysis, and Panorama Asks, we have added audio-visual content (Paradigma Podcast, Tevatür, and Foreign Policy Talks), Syllabuses, Reading Lists, Lecture Notes, and, recently, the Current Research category.

As of December 30, 2025, we have uploaded a total of 951 products, either in Turkish or English, across various genres. Of these, 283 are audio-visual, and 668 are written materials. Looking at the different categories, the following picture emerges: Opinions: 523; Podcasts: 206; Panorama Interviews: 64; Analyses: 50; Panorama Asks: 48; Syllabus, Lecture Notes, Reading Lists: 23; Reports: 21; Foreign Policy Talks: 13; Current Research: 3.

Believing that every topic of human interest has a place in Global Panorama, we continuously strive to expand the content and scope of the expert opinions we share. We welcome your suggestions in this regard.

Published through the voluntary efforts of a group of academics, researchers, and assistants, Global Panorama will continue to reach out to you in 2026, in its 6th year, with its established team, distinct framework, expanding content, and agility that keeps up with current events.

Please keep reading it, sharing it…
